Repvenge locks the apps you choose and hands them back as minutes you earn by moving. This page answers the questions that actually come up, and tells you how to reach a person.
You can open this page from inside the app at any time: Profile → Help & Support.
Get help#
Email repvenge@netvi.app. Email is the fastest way to reach us and the channel we monitor most closely.
Repvenge is published by Minh Quy Huynh, Thon Hung Ngia, Pho Phong, Duc Pho, Quang Ngai 570000, Vietnam.
That inbox goes to Minh Quy Huynh, who builds Repvenge. It is a real inbox, not a ticket robot, and every message gets read.
How fast we reply. We aim to reply within two working days, and in almost every case within five. We are a very small team, so this is what we aim for rather than a guarantee — but if your problem needs a code change, we will say so in the first reply and tell you what we are doing about it rather than leaving you waiting. We answer in English.
Write from inside the app if you can. Tap Profile → Contact. That opens an email already filled in with your app version, your iOS version and your device model, which is most of what we would otherwise have to ask you for.
Privacy questions and complaints go to the same address — put "Privacy" in the subject line and we will treat it as a formal complaint. We acknowledge every privacy complaint within 30 days at the very latest, and answer without undue delay. If you are in the UK you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, but we would rather you gave us the chance first.
What we cannot do from our side. Repvenge has no accounts, and the app has no server of its own. We hold no copy of your workouts, your streak, your settings or your app list, so we cannot look up your data, restore it, reset it or delete it for you. Everything in this page is something you do on your own phone.
If a permission got switched off#
Repvenge asks for exactly two things: the front camera, and Screen Time access. You can refuse or withdraw either one. Here is how to put each one back.
Camera denied: the workout screen is black, or says "Camera off"#
- Open Settings.
- Scroll down to Repvenge and tap it. On iOS 18 and later, Repvenge lives inside Settings → Apps.
- Turn Camera on. (The same switch is at Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Repvenge.)
- Go back to Repvenge and start a set.
If the switch is already on and the preview is still black, close Repvenge completely and reopen it, and check that nothing is covering the front camera. If it is still black after that, send us a bug report — see below.
Screen Time denied: the Apps tab says "Screen Time access denied"#
Repvenge locks apps through Apple's Screen Time system. Without that permission the app still counts reps, but nothing can be locked or unlocked.
- Open Settings → Screen Time.
- Make sure Screen Time itself is turned on. Repvenge cannot work if the whole feature is off.
- Tap Apps with Screen Time Access.
- Turn Repvenge on. iOS may ask for your Screen Time passcode.
- Reopen Repvenge, go to the Apps tab, and check your list is still there.
If Repvenge is not in that list at all, open the Apps tab and tap the pencil button in the top right. That asks iOS for access again.
One thing that catches people out: reinstalling the app silently revokes Screen Time access, even though your app list is still on screen. When that happens Repvenge tells you on the Apps tab — "Screen Time permission missing (a reinstall resets it)" — and tapping the pencil fixes it.
Rep counting#
The camera will not count my reps#
Nine times out of ten this is framing, not you.
Repvenge tracks 13 points on your body — shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and the base of your neck. It can only count a movement when it can actually see the joints that movement uses. For push-ups that means one shoulder, elbow and wrist, plus a hip and an ankle for the straight-body check.
A setup that works:
- Prop the phone on its side, on the floor or something low, a couple of metres away, so it sees you side-on rather than from the front or from above.
- Get your whole body in frame, hands to feet.
- Use even light. Strong backlight — a window or lamp behind you — makes you a silhouette, and a silhouette has no joints.
- Wear something reasonably close-fitting. Very loose or baggy clothing hides where your elbows and hips really are.
- Be the only person in frame. If there are two of you, Repvenge follows whoever it can see most clearly.
The coach line just under the rep counter tells you what is missing while you set up — "Step back. I can't see your legs", "I can't see your arms. Adjust the phone". It is worth reading before you drop into position.
Why did that rep not count?#
For a push-up, three things all have to be true before Repvenge counts one:
- your elbows genuinely bend and then straighten again;
- your body actually rises — your shoulders have to travel back up, so bending your arms without moving does nothing;
- your hips do not sag at the bottom. Repvenge checks the shoulder-hip-ankle line and rejects the rep if you fold in the middle.
So half reps, worm reps, sagging planks and elbow flicks will not count. Reps done less than about half a second apart are also ignored — nobody does a real push-up that fast.
Squats work the same way from the side: knees bend, hips genuinely drop and rise. For the boxing cross, the arm has to snap out to full extension — a wrist flick will not pass.
Rep counting is an estimate made from a camera image. It can miss reps and, more rarely, add one. Lighting, camera angle, distance, clothing and form all affect it. Please do not chase the number by breaking your form.
If it consistently refuses to count for you, email us with your device, your iOS version, which movement you were doing and — if you are willing — a ten-second video of your setup. That one video usually solves it.
Which movements can it count?#
Push-ups, squats and the boxing cross. Push-ups are the default. Tap the movement name on the Home tab to switch. Push-ups and squats are counted from a side view; the boxing cross is counted from the front.
Can you see what my camera sees?#
No. Repvenge does not see it, does not keep it, and has no way to send it anywhere.
Frames from the front camera go straight into Apple's on-device body-pose system on your phone, which returns joint positions. Nothing is recorded, nothing is written to storage, nothing is uploaded. There is nowhere for it to be uploaded to — Repvenge has no server of its own, and the only connections it ever opens are to Apple and to our three public web pages when you tap a link.
The camera only runs while the workout screen is open, and you always see the live preview while it does. Leave that screen and the camera stops. Repvenge keeps no face points. Apple's pose system returns a full skeleton, and the app reads only the 13 body joints listed above out of it — the nose, eyes and ears are dropped on the spot, never stored, never measured and never used for anything. Nothing about your face is recorded, compared or kept.
Your deal and your minutes#
How do I set the deal?#
The deal is how much screen time one rep is worth.
Go to the Profile tab. Each movement has its own deal card with a slider. Grab the round knob and drag it. The knob is the only handle — tapping the bar or dragging the track does nothing, on purpose, so scrolling past a card never renegotiates your deal by accident.
The range is 5 seconds to 100 seconds per rep, in 5-second steps. The default is 20 seconds. The slider is marked in three zones: Strict, Balanced and Top Deal.
Changing your deal only prices future reps. Minutes you have already banked are never recalculated.
How many reps is a set?#
Every set is 10 reps, on every movement. That number is fixed for now — you cannot change it.
The Goal pill on the Home tab is a different thing: it sets your target for the day (10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 or 60 reps), which is what the progress meter on Home fills up. It does not change how long a set runs.
One finished set earns 10 x your deal. With the default 20-second deal that is 200 seconds — 3 minutes 20 seconds of screen time. Push the deal to its maximum of 100 seconds and the same set earns 16 minutes 40 seconds.
Do I have to finish the set?#
Yes. Minutes are credited the moment you hit the goal, not rep by rep. If you quit part-way through, that set earns nothing — the app warns you before letting you quit.
How do the minutes get spent?#
Think of it as a wallet.
- Balance above zero: the apps on your list are open, and iOS meters your use of them minute by minute. Minutes only burn while you are actually in one of those apps, not while you are using the rest of your phone.
- Balance at zero: those apps are locked again. That happens even if Repvenge is closed — a small background helper re-locks them for you.
Occasionally iOS refuses to set up the per-minute metering. When that happens Repvenge deliberately leaves your apps open rather than confiscating minutes you earned, and burns the balance by the clock instead. The Apps tab says which mode you are in: "Unlocked. Metering your usage" or "Unlocked. Burning by clock".
Repvenge meters up to an hour of balance at a time. If you have banked more than that, the rest keeps counting down and is re-armed the next time you open Repvenge.
The apps you locked#
Why are my apps still blocked?#
Work down this list:
- Your balance is zero. Open Repvenge — the Apps tab shows exactly how much scroll time is left. If it is zero, do a set.
- Screen Time access is missing or was denied. The Apps tab says so at the top. Fix it with the steps above.
- Give it a moment. Repvenge asks iOS to apply and remove shields, but iOS decides when that takes effect. Apple does not guarantee the change is instant. Opening and closing the shielded app, or restarting the phone, usually settles it.
- You picked a category, not just apps. Ticking a whole category — Social, for example — locks everything in it, including apps you install later.
- Something other than Repvenge is blocking it. Screen Time's own Downtime, App Limits and Communication Limits are separate features that Repvenge does not touch. If the block screen is not Repvenge's, check Settings → Screen Time.
There is also a known iOS bug where the system reports usage that never happened. Repvenge detects those events and ignores them, and tells you on the Apps tab when it has. If locking is behaving strangely, turning Repvenge's Screen Time access off and on again in Settings clears the state.
How do I remove the block entirely?#
Whenever you want, with no workout, no payment and no subscription required.
- To unlock everything but keep the app: Apps tab → Clear list. Your earn-back list is emptied and nothing stays shielded. You can rebuild it later.
- To cut Repvenge off from Screen Time completely: Settings → Screen Time → Apps with Screen Time Access → Repvenge → turn it off.
- To leave altogether: do the step above first, then delete the app as normal.
That order matters. While Repvenge holds Screen Time access, iOS itself will not let you delete the app, and it will block signing out of iCloud. That is Apple's rule for every app that uses Screen Time, not a trap we built. Turn the access off and both work again immediately.
Do you know which apps I picked?#
No. We genuinely cannot see it.
You choose your apps in Apple's own picker, which hands back sealed tokens rather than app names. Repvenge cannot open them. When your list is drawn on screen, iOS is drawing the names and icons — the app is just passing the tokens back for display. Those tokens stay in Repvenge's own storage on your phone and are used for one thing: telling iOS what to lock and unlock.
Privacy questions#
Does Repvenge work without an internet connection?#
Yes. Repvenge has no backend to call, so counting reps, earning minutes, locking and unlocking all work in airplane mode, on a plane, in a basement.
Two things do need a connection: opening the privacy policy, terms or this support page from inside the app — those load from our website in an in-app browser — and anything involving a purchase, which is handled by Apple.
What do you know about me?#
Nothing that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no login, no email address, no username, no user id, no advertising identifier, no analytics service and no crash reporter. Your settings, your progress and your app list live on your phone.
Repvenge writes no diagnostics or analytics file of its own. Nothing about your use of the app is logged for us to read later.
The full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions, cancelling and refunds#
Repvenge 1.0.0 offers no purchases inside the app, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to cancel. If a later release does offer a subscription, it is optional and is sold, billed and refunded by Apple — this section is what applies then. If you cannot find a subscription anywhere in the app, you are not being charged for anything.
We never see your card number, your billing address or any payment identifier. Apple does not give them to us.
How do I cancel?#
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Repvenge, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal date, otherwise that renewal has already been taken. You keep what you paid for until the end of the period you are in.
While a subscription is active, Repvenge links straight to the same place: Profile → Manage in App Store. You can also cancel at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
If there is a free trial, it converts into a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription#
This is the single most common way people get charged for something they thought they had ended. Deleting Repvenge removes the app and its data from your phone, but the subscription lives in your Apple Account and keeps renewing until you cancel it in Settings.
How do I get a refund?#
Refunds are Apple's decision, not ours — we cannot issue one. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find Repvenge and choose the refund option.
Tell us as well if something went wrong. Knowing why people ask for refunds is how the app gets better, and if we can fix your problem you may not need one. None of this affects any refund or cancellation right you have by law where you live.
How do I restore a purchase?#
Open Repvenge, go to the Profile tab and tap Restore purchases on the subscription card. You need an internet connection, and you need to be signed in to the same Apple Account you bought with. There is no Repvenge account to sign in to.
If there is no subscription card on that screen, the app is not charging for anything and there is nothing to restore.
Progress, streaks and devices#
My streak disappeared#
Your streak counts consecutive days on which you finished at least one full set, using your phone's own calendar and time zone. Reps are only banked when a set completes, so a set you quit part-way through does nothing for your streak. Today does not break it until midnight, so you always have the rest of the day to save it.
Common reasons it resets:
- A whole day passed with no completed set. The streak goes back to zero. There are no streak freezes or repairs, and we cannot grant one — we have no record of your days.
- You reinstalled the app, or moved to a new phone without restoring Repvenge's data. Progress lives in the app's own storage on that device. There is no account and no cloud copy, so a fresh install starts at zero.
- The phone's date or time zone changed, which moves where one day ends and the next begins.
If your streak vanished while none of the above happened, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
It does not work on my iPad#
Repvenge is an iPhone app. It is built for iPhone running iOS 17 or later, in portrait, using the front camera. There is no iPad version and no iPad layout, and we do not test on iPad, so we cannot support it there.
Before you exercise#
Repvenge is a general fitness and screen-time app. It is not a medical device, it does not give medical advice, and it does not know anything about your health.
- Check with a doctor before starting any exercise programme, especially if you are pregnant, or have a heart condition, high blood pressure, a joint or back problem, or a recent injury.
- Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, chest discomfort or faintness.
- Warm up. Make sure you have clear space around you and a surface you will not slip on.
- Never exercise to exhaustion to unlock an app. No app is worth an injury. If you cannot finish a set today, put the phone down and come back tomorrow — the block is always removable using the steps above.
Report a bug#
Email repvenge@netvi.app, or use Profile → Contact in the app, which pre-fills most of this for you. Please keep those pre-filled lines in the message.
Include:
- What happened, and what you expected instead.
- The steps to reproduce it, as plainly as you can. "Started a set, did 8 reps, only 3 counted" beats "rep counting is broken".
- Your iOS version — Settings → General → About → Software Version.
- Your device — the model on that same About screen, for example iPhone 15 Pro.
- Your app version — Repvenge → Profile tab, scroll to the bottom, the Version row. It looks like 1.0.0 (1).
- Whether the camera or Screen Time was involved, and whether either permission is currently on.
- A screenshot or screen recording if the problem is something you can see. For rep-counting problems, a short video of your setup is worth ten emails.
Report a security issue#
If you have found a security or privacy flaw, email repvenge@netvi.app with "Security" in the subject line. Please tell us privately first rather than posting it publicly, and give us enough detail to reproduce it.
We will confirm we have received it within two working days and tell you what we think. If we fix it, we will tell you when the fix ships; if we decide not to act on it, we will tell you that instead, and why. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and does not access other people's devices or data while finding it.
Accessibility#
Repvenge leans on colour, motion and a camera, and we know that does not suit everybody. If any part of it is hard to use — text size, contrast, VoiceOver, the animations, or the exercises themselves — email us and tell us what you hit and which accessibility settings you use. Those reports get priority, and they are the main thing that drives this part of the app forward.
Privacy, terms and the small print#
Repvenge has no user accounts, and the app has no server of its own to talk to: your app list and your progress stay in Repvenge's storage on your phone, and camera frames are read and discarded without ever being stored. The only servers involved are the one hosting these three pages and Apple's, when you buy or restore a subscription. If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, iOS may include Repvenge's local files in that backup, as it does for any app — that backup is between you and Apple, and we cannot reach it.
Support is provided by Minh Quy Huynh at repvenge@netvi.app. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Repvenge.
